The Control Rod Drive Control System was replaced in the framework of the KNPP Units 5&6 Modernization Program. The replacement took nine months and it was followed by modification of the full scope simulator to ensure consistency between the Units and the simulator.
The main purpose of the project was to bring the FSS-1000 (Full Scope Simulator) in compliance with the reference Unit. The necessary equipment was supplied and software was developed to simulate the new system functions and the man-machine interface. The mathematical model of the simulated Control Rod Drive Control System was also changed. The necessary training for the operation and maintenance of the newly supplied equipment was provided for.
