REHABILITATION OF THE BEARING STRUCTURE OF TRANSPORTATION CONVEYOR No. 113 IN MARITSA EAST 2 TPP

The rehabilitation of the said bearing structure is implemented in two phases – design, and implementation as such.

During phase 1, technological designs are elaborated for structure rehabilitation and application of anti-corrosion protection to the structural elements, as well as structure design, to ensure the regulatory and operation reliability of the facility.

The structure design comprises:

  • development of a detailed finite elements model of the trestle as-built structure,
  • analysis of the dynamic behavior of the as-built structure by applying non-linear monotonous statistical analysis, and history analysis with real and synthetic accelerograms,
  • bearing capacity assessment of the trestle main elements, based on the forces obtained in the model, and determination of the failure modes for the columns and girders,
  • detailed designs for strengthening the conveyor structure.

Transportation conveyor reinforcement by carbon fibers has been designed and implemented.
