The rehabilitation of the said bearing structure is implemented in two phases – design, and implementation as such.
During phase 1, technological designs are elaborated for structure rehabilitation and application of anti-corrosion protection to the structural elements, as well as structure design, to ensure the regulatory and operation reliability of the facility.
The structure design comprises:
- development of a detailed finite elements model of the trestle as-built structure,
- analysis of the dynamic behavior of the as-built structure by applying non-linear monotonous statistical analysis, and history analysis with real and synthetic accelerograms,
- bearing capacity assessment of the trestle main elements, based on the forces obtained in the model, and determination of the failure modes for the columns and girders,
- detailed designs for strengthening the conveyor structure.
Transportation conveyor reinforcement by carbon fibers has been designed and implemented.
