DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION AND COMMISSIONING OF ELHOVO – 4 AND ELHOVO – 5 PHOTOVOLTAIC POWER PLANTS

Installed power: 4MW and 5MW respectively.

The construction of the Photovoltaic Power Plant (PPP) "Elhovo 4” includes the installation of 15,228 pieces of photovoltaic panels (Monocrystalline, 260 Wp) on static metal structures, on the area of 74.25 dca. The panels are connected to 141 pieces of string inverters (3-phase, 30kW). The Plant is connected to the power distribution network through the reconstruction of branch with a length of 0.5km of the Overhead 20 KV transmission line “Mladost” OHTL from 110/20kV Elhovo substation.

The construction of the Photovoltaic Power Plant (PPP) "Elhovo 5” includes the installation of 18,144 pieces of photovoltaic panels (Monocrystalline, 280 Wp) on static metal structures, on the area of 99.38 dca. The panels are connected to 168 pieces of string inverters (3-phase, 30kW). The Plant is connected to the power distribution network through the reconstruction of the Overhead 20 KV transmission line “Mladost” with a length of 1.9km and cubicle retrofit “No.33” – 20kV in the 110/20kV Elhovo substation.

In addition, the necessary electrical facilities have been constructed on the territories of both Plants: four transformer substations for each of them (type BKTP – Unit Switchgear Set Transformers, 1000kVA, 0.4/20kV) and one distribution station (20kV) for each of them.

Monitoring systems have been introduced for the PPP operation in real-time, thereby providing monitoring of a number of main technical parameters. Thorough analyses of the operation of plants shall be made based on the incoming information and, if necessary, the trained personnel available shall undertake adequate measures to remove possible defects or accidents. The on-site security systems include: physical security, permanent video surveillance, security lighting and perimeter security for the entire length of safety fences of the Plants by sensor optical cables.
