DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF DRY SPENT FUEL STORAGE FACILITY (DSFSF)

Financing: EBRD

The DSFSF building bearing structure was single-span, one storey frame with 26 m opening. The walls in longitudinal and transversal direction were made of reinforced concrete 50 cm wide. The roof was constructed from two-hinged steel frameworks with purlins on them.

The warehouse facility was serviced by a bridge crane working in K6 operating mode and with 145 t lifting capacity. The crane track stepped on steel crane girders. The foundation was on a common foundation slab which stepped on drilling - cast piles with diameter d = 0.88 m and with l = 15,20m. The building was constructed in 2 stages.

  •  The first stage included the construction of a warehouse with dimensions 27.50 х 42 according to the plan.
  •  After finishing the rough building, the construction of 27 m wide extension was initiated.
