Risk Engineering conducted training for Vietnamese specialists on Introduction into WWER Technologies

In January 2012, two months training of specialists from VINATOM (the Vietnamese Regulatory Body) was done at the Risk Engineering office on introduction into WWER technologies according to a program drawn up based on the contents of the Safety Analysis Report.

The training was provided for nuclear specialists, electrical engineers, physicists, and specialists in other disciplines. The training was developed and conducted with the application of the Systematic approach. Training materials, self-study materials, presentations, and questionnaires for testing were prepared.The training was conducted by leading specialists from Risk Engineering Ltd.

Two weeks were allocated to the study of the methods of comparative analysis of different reactor types supported by examples. The trainees also visited Kozloduy NPP where lectures were delivered to them on the modernization of WWER1000/320 reactors accompanied by a visit to the plant units and the simulators.

The training was completed on March 8, 2012 by handing over certificates to the trainees.
